How it decides

  1. 01

    Your water

Creek, big lake or open ocean rules out more boats than anything else. A type that is not built for your water is set aside, with the reason.

  2. 02

    Your days

Fishing, tubing, sailing, paddling or sleeping aboard. Types built for it score highest; types that can only manage it say so.

  3. 03

    Your life ashore

Roof rack, trailer or slip; how many aboard; how much training and upkeep you want. Each one adds a plain reason, for or against.

New to boats and hoping for light upkeep. Here is what the Fit Finder says, top three of 17 types that fit (9 set aside).

Would you own one?
